          Madhya Pradesh Assembly Speaker Ishwar Das Rohani today passed away following a heart attack.

          Rohani was the sitting MLA from Jabalpur Cantt and the BJP had again fielded him from the same seat for the November 25 state elections.

          Born on June 30, 1946, the senior BJP leader had been elected to the Madhya Pradesh Assembly four consecutive times from Jabalpur Cantonment constituency.

          He had spent 19 months in jail during the Emergency in 1975.
